Die Porsche AG gründet mit dem deutschen Batterieproduzenten Customcells ein Joint Venture (JV) zur Herstellung von Hochleistungsbatterien. Laut einer Porsche-Mitteilung vom vergangenen Sonntag sollen die Akkus die Ladezeiten deutlich reduzieren. Der Sportwagenbauer plant die Investition eines hohen zweistelligen Millionenbetrags in die neue Cellforce Group. Der Porsche-Anteil soll 80 Prozent betragen.
Wie die Nachrichtenagentur Reuters mitteilt, zielt die Partnerschaft mit dem auf Lithium-Ionen-Zellen spezialisierten Unternehmen aus Tübingen darauf ab, Autobatterien mit einer höheren Energiedichte zu produzieren als die Prototypen, die in den aktuellen Elektro-Autos von Porsche verwendet werden. Die Produktionsanlage soll 2024 in Betrieb gehen und eine Kapazität von 100 Kilowattstunden aufweisen – Batterien für etwa 1.000 Autos pro Jahr.

Zusätzlich zur Verkürzung der Ladezeit erfordere die Verbesserung der Energiedichte weniger Rohmaterial und garantiere die gleiche Reichweite. Das senke letztlich die Produktionskosten für Batterien und mache Elektroautos erschwinglicher. Wie das Nachrichtenportal n-tv berichtet, soll die Produktionsanlage in der Nähe des Stuttgarter Porsche-Stammsitzes angesiedelt sein und bis zum Jahr 2025 etwa 80 Beschäftigte haben.
