Nachdem wir Mitte März das letzte Mal eine aktuelle Übersicht zu den geplanten Standorten für Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezellfabriken in Europa gezeigt hatten, hat sich der Markt bis Ende April weiterentwickelt. Auf der Batteriekarte sind zwei weitere Vorhaben hinzugekommen – beide unter dem Dach des VW-Konzerns, der seinerseits bei der Elektrifizierung aufs Tempo drückt. Neu auf der Karte erscheint das Vorhaben von Porsche in Tübingen: Dort sollen künftig leistungsoptimierte Batteriezellen für den Premiumbereich entstehen. Im Gegensatz dazu schon in der vergangenen Übersicht erwähnt, jedoch damals noch nicht aufgenommen, ist nun auch der in Barcelona geplante Batteriestandort der Marke SEAT. Beiden neuen Standorten ist gemein, dass es aktuell noch wenig Auskunft über Produktionsbeginn und Produktionsmengen der Batteriezellen gibt. Diese Lücke dürfte sich in naher Zukunft allerdings schließen.
Damit gibt es aktuell 26 verschiedene Ankündigungen im Bereich der Batteriezellfertigung mit Fokus auf die Traktionsbatterie in Europa. In den Reifegradstufen bewegen sie sich von einer einfachen Absichtserklärung bis hin zu etablierten Batteriezellstandorten. Mit der Ankündigung von SEAT erscheint Spanien als neues Batteriezellhersteller-Land auf der Karte.
