Die global agierende „Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems“ mit Fokus auf Fahrzeugbatterien und Energiespeichersystemen hat 51 Prozent des Stammkapitals der deutschen Triathlon Holding GmbH erworben. Vorbehaltlich der Freigabe durch die zuständigen Wettbewerbsbehörden hält die Geraer Batterie Dienst GmbH als der bisherige Hauptgesellschafter von Triathlon fortan 49 Prozent. Beide Unternehmen sollen sich zusammenschließen, ihre jeweiligen Aktivitäten jedoch fortsetzen.
Höherer Absatz, geringere Kosten
Das fusionierte Unternehmen verfolge das Ziel, vor allem in Europa und den USA eine führende Rolle zu übernehmen und einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Dekarbonisierung und Energiesicherheit zu leisten. Dafür sei die Entwicklung einer in Europa ansässigen Lieferkette für Lithium-Zellen und Energiespeichersysteme vorgesehen. Der Verbund ermögliche eine Vergrößerung der Produktionskapazitäten, des Produkt- und Dienstleistungsangebots sowie der geografischen Reichweite. Daneben rechne der Konzern dank der Fusion mit einer Steigerung des weltweiten Absatzes und einer Senkung der Betriebskosten.
