Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) hat bekannt gegeben das Projekt ILAB der Juniorprofessur für Methoden des Batteriemanagements und des Lehrstuhls Elektrische Energiesysteme an der Universität Bayreuth mit rund 2.200.000 Euro über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren zu fördern.

Im Projekt ILAB (Intelligentes Batterietestlabor) werden künftig im Bereich des Batterietestings eine neuartige Infrastruktur aufgebaut. Diese soll systematisch rechnergestützte Methoden im Bereich der experimentellen Charakterisierung von Batterien integrieren. Dazu gehören die mathematische Optimierung, Methoden der künstlichen Intelligenz, Unsicherheitsanalyse, statistische Versuchsplanung sowie modellprädiktive Regelung. Dabei sollen durch interdisziplinäres und vernetztes Arbeiten unter anderem Entwicklungsprozesse beschleunigt und innovative Lösungen gefunden.

Ein Kernziel des Projektes ist es, die Entwicklungszyklen zu verkürzen. Hierzu soll eine intelligente Verknüpfung von Experimenten und der systematische Einsatz von rechnergestützten Werkzeugen bei der Planung, Durchführung und Auswertung von Batterietests verwendet werden. Im Bayreuther Batterietestlabor sind Tests auf drei Ebenen (Elektrodenebene, Zellebene und Modulebene) vorgesehen. Dies ermöglicht eine skalenübergreifende Betrachtung.
