Das deutsche Produktionsunternehmen Coperion beliefert die Cellforce Group künftig mit Doppelschnecken-Extrudern zur Herstellung von Batterie-Slurrys. Die beiden Extruder mit den unternehmenseigenen K-Tron-Dosiersystemen sollen hohe Flexibilität bei unterschiedlichen Formulierungen ermöglichen. Cellforce habe den Extrudermischprozess aufgrund der Mischeigenschaften, des gezielt steuerbaren Durchsatzes und des hohen Automatisierungsgrades gegenüber diskontinuierlichen Verfahren gewählt.
Besonders hohe Homogenität
Die Doppelschnecken-Extruder sollen aufgrund ihrer sehr guten Mischleistung für eine besonders hohe Homogenität der speziellen und für diese Hochleistungsbatteriezellen entwickelten Rezeptur mit ihrem hohen Siliziumanteil sorgen. Ihre modulare Bauweise ermögliche zudem eine einfache Anpassung an neue Rezepturen. So sollen sich künftige Optimierungen, etwa der Verzicht auf toxische Lösungsmittel, schnell und ohne Qualitätsverlust umsetzen lassen.
Britishvolt zählt zu den Anwendern
Neben der Cellforce Group setzen auch weitere Unternehmen auf das kontinuierliche Mischverfahren. Ein prominentes Beispiel ist der Konzern Britishvolt, der zuletzt Doppelschnecken-Extruder für seine Gigafactory in Northumberland erworben hatte. Auch EAS Batteries und Blackstone Technology verwenden den innovativen Mischprozess oder arbeiten aktiv an seiner Weiterentwicklung.
