Das deutsche Maschinenbau-Unternehmen PINK GmbH Thermosysteme ist vom Zellproduzenten Britishvolt mit der Lieferung von 30 Vakuumöfen beauftragt worden. Die Gesamtsumme der Bestellung soll mehrere Millionen Euro betragen. Die Anlagen in der Ausstattungsvariante „Vakuum-Umluft-Trocknungsofen“ sollen an zwei Standorten in Großbritannien errichtet werden.

Ausstattung der Gigafactory in Blyth

Die Lieferung soll an das Werk in Blyth, das über eine Jahreskapazität von 30 Gigawattstunden verfügt, sowie nach Coleshill gehen. Vorgesehen ist, dass die Geräte bei der Fertigung von zylindrischen und prismatischen Zellen zum Einsatz kommen. Nach dem Maschinenbauer Manz AG ist PINK nun ein weiteres deutsches Unternehmen, das mit seinen Anlagen den britischen Zellhersteller beliefert.

Vakuumtrocknen bildet essenziellen Prozessschritt

In den Vakuum-Umluft-Trocknungsöfen wird mittels umgewälzter Luft das Coil auf eine definierte Temperatur gebracht. Anschließend wird die Luft oder das Inertgas evakuiert, wobei der Prozess alternierend abläuft. Die Anzahl der Zyklen ist abhängig vom Trocknungsverhalten des Produkts. Das Vakuumtrocknen bildet in der Elektrodenfertigung den letzten Schritt, bevor das getrocknete Coil der Zellassemblierung übergeben wird. Dieser Prozessschritt ist essenziell, um die geringsten Mengen von Lösemittel zu verdampfen und zurückzugewinnen.
