Die neu gegründete Swiss Clean Battery AG plant den Aufbau einer Gigafactory für Feststoffakkus. Das Unternehmen mit Sitz im schweizerischen Fraunfeld strebt an, in den kommenden Jahren in der ersten Phase eine Jahreskapazität von 1,2 Gigawattstunden zu erreichen. Das Volumen soll schrittweise auf 7,6 Gigawattstunden wachsen.

Hohe Schnellladefähigkeit, frei von Kobalt

Laut Aussagen des Konzerns werden die Festkörperbatterien eine Lebensdauer von mehr als 100.000 Zyklen sowie eine hohe Schnellladefähigkeit besitzen, eine konstante Leistung aufweisenund frei von Kobalt sein. Damit seien die Zellen 50 Prozent umweltfreundlicher als herkömmliche Lithium-Ionen-Batterien. Das im März 2022 gegründete Unternehmen möchte zunächst etwa 180 Menschen einstellen und sich perspektivisch auf mehr als 1.000 Mitarbeitende vergrößern. Derzeit ist ein Jahresumsatz von etwa 320 Millionen Schweizer Franken geplant; das entspricht etwa 310 Millionen Euro. Weitere Informationen zur geplanten Gigafactory sollen in der kommenden Woche bekanntgegeben werden.
