Der Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (VDMA) prognostiziert für das laufende Jahr ein Umsatzwachstum von mehr als 17 Prozent für deutsche Produzenten von Maschinen, Anlagen und Komponenten im Bereich der Batterieherstellung. Für das Jahr 2022 erwartet der VDMA-Fachverband Batterieproduktion gar einen Anstieg von 25 Prozent. Insgesamt gewinne der europäische Markt stark an Bedeutung.

Deutsche Produkte vor allem in Europa verbreitet
Auch die weltweite Entwicklung zeige, dass es enorme Bedarfe für Produktionskapazitäten im Batteriezellensektor gibt. Dies spiegele die große Anzahl von Batteriefabriken wider, die für die kommenden wenigen Jahre in Europa geplant werden. Folglich gewönnen auch die europäischen Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer an Bedeutung. Laut der VDMA-Umfrage wird mit mehr als 50 Prozent ein Großteil der in Deutschland hergestellten Maschinen und Anlagen im deutschen sowie im europäischen Markt vertrieben. In den Jahren 2016 und 2017 ging noch fast jede zweite Maschine oder Anlage in den asiatischen Raum. Der aktuellen Umfrage zufolge sind es nur noch rund 30 Prozent, gefolgt vom nordamerikanischen Markt mit etwa 14 Prozent.
