Zum Auftakt des vierten Quartals 2021 präsentiert „Battery-News.de“ eine aktualisierte Übersichtskarte zur Batteriezellfertigung in Europa. Die entsprechenden Daten stammen aus Pressemitteilungen der relevanten Akteure sowie aus weitestgehend gesicherten Quellen. Die wohl bedeutsamste Neuerung bilden die Ambitionen von Mercedes-Benz: Die Daimler-Marke will als Partner von Stellantis und Total in deren Batteriezellen-Projekt ACC einsteigen.
Massive Wachstumspläne von ACC und Volkswagen
Bis zum Jahr 2030 soll dazu die von ACC bislang an den Standorten Dury und Kaiserlautern vorgesehene Produktionsleistung von 48 auf 120 Gigawattstunden ausbauen. Zum Vergleich: VW hat in sechs europäischen Gigfactorys insgesamt 240 Gigawattstunden angepeilt – laut Experten vermutlich durch die Schaffung weiterer Produktionsstandorte. Unterdessen hat auch der russische Konzern Rosatom einen Platz für eigene Batteriezellambitionen gefunden: Das Atom-Unternehmen plant, ein Batterie-Werk in Kaliningrad und damit in direkter Nähe zum europäischen Kernmarkt aufzubauen.
