Die Infineon Technologies AG erweitert ihr Produktangebot für Batteriemanagement-Systeme (BMS), um eine neue Sensing- und Balancing-IC. Der neue Funktionsbaustein, unter dem Namen TLE9012AQU, ist insbesondere für Hybrid- und Elektroautobatterien ausgelegt, eignet sich nach Aussage von Infineon aber auch für andere Anwendungsfelder.

Die neue Funktion im Infineon BMS erfasst bei bis zu zwölf Batteriezellen die Spannung mit einer Genauigkeit von +- 5,8 mV über den gesamten Temperatur- und Spannungsbereich sowie die gesamte Lebensdauer. Zudem unterstützt der Baustein bis zu fünf externe Temperatursensoren und verfügt über eine integrierte Cell-Balancing-Funktion.

Zentrale Aufgabe des neu entwickelten Bausteins ist es, dass BMS weiter bei der optimalen Entladung und Ladung von Batterien zu verbessern, hierdurch Alterungsprozess der Batteriezellen zu reduzieren und effektivere Daten zur Restreichweit des Fahrzeugs zu generieren. Dafür nimmt der neue Baustein in beschriebener Form die zusätzlichen Messdaten auf und stellt durch das Cell-Balancing einen ausgeglichenen Ladezustand der Batteriezellen sicher.

Begleitet von einem zweiten Produkt im Bereich, ist die neue Technologie ab Juli 2020 bei Infineon erhältlich.
