Das Land Baden-Württemberg hat Förderungen von rund 155 Millionen Euro speziell für die Batterieforschung angekündigt und freigegeben. Man wolle zu einem europäischen Zentrum der Batterie werden. Im Rahmen des IPCEI könnten insgesamt bis zu 500 Millionen Euro bereitgestellt, um mit der weltweiten Konkurrenz Schritt halten zu können. Insbesondere im Angesicht der aktuellen Pandemie sei die weitergehende Förderung essentiell.
