Unter dem Slogan „EV Battery – Yesterday´s Scrap is Tomorrow´s Gold” untersucht das PEM der RWTH Aachen die Demontagefähigkeit aktueller Batteriepacks aus Elektrofahrzeugen mit dem Ziel der Wertsteigerung von Batterien durch die Verlängerung der Lebensdauer. Der Schwerpunkt liegt in der Betrachtung des Zustands der Batteriekomponenten im Hinblick auf ihre Wiederverwendbarkeit in einem zweiten Lebenszyklus (Remanufacturing), die Untersuchung des Alterungsverhaltens der Batteriezellen und der benötigen Analyseverfahren sowie der wirtschaftlichen Beurteilung des Remanufacturing-Prozesses. Die Bewertung des aktuellen Batteriedesigns auf Zell-, Modul- und Packebene ermöglicht außerdem Handlungsempfehlungen für das Konstruieren eines innovativen Designs4Remanufacturing.
