Der für die Entwicklung von Natrium-Ionen-Batterien (NIB) bekannte chinesische Produzent Hina Battery hat eine Partnerschaft mit dem Automobilkonzern JAC angekündigt. Gemeinsam mit Sehol, dem Joint Venture aus JAC und Volkswagen Anhui, wurde zudem ein Testfahrzeug mit Natrium-Ionen-Batterien ausgestattet.

250 Kilometer Reichweite

Die Batteriepack-Kapazität des Elektroautos beträgt 25 Kilowattstunden bei einer gravimetrischen Energiedichte von 120 Wattstunden pro Kilogramm. Auf Zellebene soll die Energiedichte bei 140 Wattstunden pro Kilogramm liegen. Laut Hina Battery weist das Fahrzeug gemäß regionalen chinesischen Standards eine Reichweite von etwa 250 Kilometern auf. Ein Laden der Zellen soll mit einer Rate von 4C möglich sein. Im Vergleich zur Lithium-Ionen-Batterie ist die Energiedichte geringer. Neueste Cell-to-Pack-Technologien mit NMC-Zellen sollen eine Energiedichte von bis zu 250 Wattstunden pro Kilogramm erreichen.
