Der japanische Automobilzulieferer Marelli hat einen Auftrag zur Lieferung seines Batteriemanagementsystems (BMS) erhalten. Einer offiziellen Mitteilung des Unternehmens zufolge soll das System soll in künftigen vollelektrischen Klein- und Mittelklassewagen eines global agierenden Automobilkonzerns verbaut werden. Ab 2026 sollen verschiedene Werke des nicht näher genannten Automobilherstellers beliefert werden.

Marelli liefert Hardware und Bootloader

Das BMS wird von „Marelli Electric Powertrain Teams“ in Italien und Japan entwickelt und getestet sowie 2026 produziert. Im Rahmen des Projekts stellt der Konzern eigens sowohl die Hardware als auch die Bootloader-Software des Batteriemanagementsystems für Elektroautos der Fahrzeugsegmente A, B und C bereit.

Dezentrale Architektur verkleinert Kabelbaum

Das BMS basiere auf einer verteilten Architektur, die einen reduzierten Kabelbaum erfordere. Jedes Zellmodul erhalte einen eigenen „Cell Module Controller“, der die Rolle eines BMS für das entsprechende Modul übernehme. Somit reduziere sich die Verkabelung für das Monitoring der Zellen auf wenige Kommunikationsleitungen benachbarter „Cell Module Controller“.
