Der britische Zellentwickler „LiNa Energy“ hat mit der erfolgreichen Demonstration seiner Natrium-Metall-Batterie durch den kommerziellen Partner „ion Ventures“ einen Meilenstein erreicht. „LiNa Energy“ mit Sitz in Lancaster strebt den Vertrieb seiner Batteriezellen unter anderem für den stationäen Speichersektor an.
Aufrechterhaltung des nationalen Stromnetzes
Die Demonstration habe bestätigt, dass sich eine schnelle Einspeisung und Absorption von Energie zur Aufrechterhaltung der Frequenz des nationalen Stromnetzes realisieren lasse. Dazu sei ein System von einer Kilowattstunde zum Einsatz gekommen, das die lithium- und kobaltfreien Festkörper-Natrium-Batteriezellen von „LiNa Energy“ enthalte. Um einen robusten Test zu gewährleisten, sei eine Dynamikverpflichtung von einem Kilowatt gegen eine sich wiederholende, abnormal schwankende Eingangsfrequenz simuliert worden.
Fünf Tage lang durchgängig getestet
Der Test sei fünf Tage lang kontinuierlich durchgeführt worden und habe eine Reihe von Ladezuständen simuliert. Gleichzeitig sei ein Lade- und ein Entladeprofil zum Einsatz gekommen, um die kritische Fähigkeit zu demonstrieren, Ertragsströme zu stapeln.
