Das schwedische Unternehmen „Anodox Energy Systems“ will zwei Batteriefabriken in Riga errichten. Die beiden Werke sollen sowohl die Zellproduktion als auch die Modul- und Packmontage umfassen. Laut Angaben des lettischen Wirtschaftsministeriums wird im Hafen von Riga zunächst die Montagefabrik gebaut. Das Werk zur Zellproduktion soll kurze Zeit später folgen.

LFP-Fabrik soll erste ihrer Art sein

Die Produktionsstätte zur Fertigung von Batteriezellen werde das erste seiner Art, heißt es in einer offiziellen Mitteilung. In dem lettischen Werk sollen LFP-Hochleistungszellen hergestellt werden, und vor Ort soll künftig gesamte Produktionszyklus der Batterie abgebildet sein – vom Rohstoff bis zum kompletten System. Angaben zur geplanten Jahreskapazität sowie zum Produktionsbeginn wurden indes nicht gemacht.

Modulmontage bereits Ende 2022

Für das Werk zur Montage von Batteriepacks sollen 50 Millionen Euro aufgewendet und 300 neue Arbeitsplätze geschaffen werden. Start der Produktion soll bereits Ende des laufenden Jahres sein. Als geplantes Produkt werden „Batteriepacks für Elektrofahrzeuge und leichte Nutzfahrzeuge“ genannt.
