Der israelische Batterieentwickler StoreDot hat angekündigt, dass seine schnellladenden Akkus demnächst in Europa, Amerika und Asien entstehen sollen. Das Unternehmen plane dafür keine eigenen Produktionsstätten, sondern werde die Zellen in bestehenden und künftigen Batteriefabriken seiner Partner fertigen lassen. Durch die lokale Produktion möchte das Unternehmen CO2-Emissionen reduzieren und eine Just-in-Time-Herstellung ermöglichen.
Italvolt und Eve Energy zählen zu den Partnern
Die Produktion soll im Laufe des Jahres 2024 beginnen. So hat beispielsweise Italvolt eine Lizenz für die Fertigung der Zellen von StoreDot erworben. Daneben ist eine vor einiger Zeit geschlossene Partnerschaft mit Eve Energy bekannt, wobei die geplante Produktion damals auf 2024 datiert wurde. Eve Energy verfügt bereits über Werke in China und errichtet derzeit eine Fertigung in Ungarn.
