Factorial Energy hat die Gründung einer europäischen Niederlassung zur Entwicklung von Festkörperbatterien in Deutschland angekündigt. Mit dem neuen Standort möchte das US-amerikanische Unternehmen strategische Beziehungen aufbauen und eng mit wichtigen europäischen Lieferanten und Fertigungspartnern zusammenarbeiten. Die Expansion soll zudem einen Zugang zu der umfassenden Automobilkompetenz der Region sowie zu renommierten Universitäten und Einrichtungen ermöglichen.

„Green Deal“ als Grund für Europa-Standort

„Wir werden von Anfang an dabei sein, wenn sich die Europäische Kommission mit neuen Regelungen rund um die Nachhaltigkeit von Batterien befasst, wie etwa den Initiativen ‚Battery Passport‘ und ‚Green Deal‘, um die Verbreitung von Elektrofahrzeugen zu beschleunigen“, sagt Factorial-Energy-CEO und -Mitbegründer Siyu Huang: „Die lokale Präsenz verschafft uns eine direkte Nähe zu unseren Partnern in der Automobilindustrie und Spielraum mit Blick auf die gesetzlichen Maßnahmen in Europa.“
