Die Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft hat den „Umfeldbericht zum europäischen Innovationssystem Batterie 2022“ veröffentlicht. Die Publikation nimmt Entwicklungen und Herausforderungen des europäischen Batteriemarkts in den Fokus und gewährt Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungs- und Entwicklungsthemen. Außerdem präsentiert der Bericht die „Fraunhofer-Einrichtung Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB“ als mögliche Transfer-Instanz zur schnelleren industriellen Einsatzfähigkeit von Prozesstechnologien.
Das Projekt „FoFeBat“ und die Rolle der FFB
Die Studie wurde im Rahmen des durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung geförderten Projekts „FoFeBat“ erstellt. Ziel des Vorhabens ist der Aufbau der Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB als einer Fraunhofer-Einrichtung, die in Münster die Erforschung und Entwicklung der Batteriezellproduktion bis in den Gigawattstunden-Maßstab ermöglichen soll. Die Fraunhofer FFB soll vor allem Technologien hoher Reifegrade aufgreifen und bis zur industriellen Anwendbarkeit skalieren.

An der Erarbeitung des Umfeldberichts waren die Fraunhofer-Institute IPT und ISI sowie der Lehrstuhls „Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components“ (PEM) der RWTH Aachen und die Fraunhofer-Einrichtung Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB beteiligt.
