Das serbische Unternehmen ElevenES hat die derzeit größte Lithium-Eisen-Phosphat (LFP)-Batteriezelle entwickelt. Die ersten Chargen des vollständig in Europa entstandenen Produkts sollen im ersten Quartal 2023 für Kundentests ausgeliefert werden. Die Zelle selbst soll noch im laufenden Jahr bei einer internationalen Veranstaltung der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert werden. ElevenEs plant aktuell den Aufbau einer Gigafactory mit einer Jahreskapazität von 16 Gigawattstunden in Subotica.

Produktionsaufbau verläuft wie geplant

Laut CEO Nemanja Mikać liegt der Aufbau der Fertigung im Zeitplan. ElevenEs wolle die aktuellen Produktionskapazitäten bald auf 300 bis 500 Megawattstunden erhöhen. Das Unternehmen wolle dem Markt zudem drei verschiedene EDGE-Batteriezellengrößen in einem prismatischen Format anbieten, die gegenüber allen derzeit auf dem Weltmarkt erhältlichen Massenbatterien wettbewerbsfähig seien.

Erste Giga-Scale-Stufe kommt Ende 2025

Das Labor und das Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum sind seit Juni 2021 in Betrieb. Die erste Stufe der Produktionsanlage soll bis Januar 2023 fertiggestellt sein. Die erste Stufe der Fertigung von acht Gigawattstunden mit einer Kapazität, die jährlich Batterien für rund 200.000 Elektrofahrzeuge liefern kann, wird für Ende 2025 erwartet. Ein weiterer Ausbauplan soll in Kürze bekanntgegeben werden.
