Der chinesisch-US-amerikanische Batteriehersteller Farasis hat bei einer Pressekonferenz in Peking seine neue Strategie und einen neuen hoch nickelhaltigen Akku angekündigt. Die Lithium-Ionen-Batterie der nächsten Generation trägt den Namen „Super Pouch Solution“ (SPS). Wie der Name verrät, stellt Farasis auf ein Cell-to-Pack-Batteriedesign mit größeren Pouch-Zellen um.

400 Kilometer bei Zehn-Minuten-Ladung

Mit dem Design sollen Elektrofahrzeuge, die die neuesten Zellen von Farasis verwenden, bis zu 400 Kilometer mit einer Ladezeit von zehn Minuten zurücklegen können. SPS werde auch das vom Batteriehersteller entwickelte Direkt-Recycling-Verfahren unterstützen. Angaben des Unternehmenes zufolge ermöglichen die Full-Tab- und Multi-Tab-Super-Pouch-Zellen einen einfacheren Aufbau des Batteriesystems, da sie sich von der vorherigen Generation der Reihenschaltung von Zellen unterscheiden.

Außerdem sollen sie eine Lade-/Entladerate von 2,4C bis 5C unterstützen, um den Energiebedarf unterschiedlicher Elektrofahrzeuge zu decken. Darüber hinaus seien sie mit verschiedenen chemischen Rohstoffen kompatibel, einschließlich ternärem Lithium mit hohem Nickelgehalt, nickelarmem lithiumreichem Mangan, Lithium-Mangan-Eisen-Phosphat und Natriumionen.

Massive Kostensenkung im Produktionsbereich

Das Batteriesystem im Rahmen der SPS ermögliche die Integration von Semi-Solid-State-Pouch-Zellen direkt in das Chassis, wodurch die Effizienz der Systemverpackung auf 75 Prozent verbessert werde und die Kosten für Systemkomponenten und Materialien um 50 beziehungsweise 33 Prozent gesenkt würden. Im Vergleich zum 4680-Akkupack werde die Energiedichte um zwölf Prozent gesteigert, die Zykluslebensdauer verdreifacht und die Wärmeleitfähigkeit um 60 Prozent erhöht. Ferner trage die Produktion der SPS-Pouch-Zellen dazu bei, die Anlageninvestitionen um 50 Prozent, die Betriebsfläche um 60 Prozent, den Energieverbrauch bei der Herstellung um 35 Prozent und die Produktionskosten um 30 Prozent zu senken.
