Das britische Unternehmen IONETIC hat eine Plattform für das Design von Elektroauto-Batteriepacks auf den Markt gebracht. Mit der Neuerung des Start-up-Betriebs sollen Automobilhersteller, die ein neues Elektrofahrzeug ins Leben rufen möchten, sowohl Kosten als auch Zeit bei der Entwicklung in erheblichem Maß einsparen können.
Versprechen großer Einsparpotenziale
Laut offiziellen Unternehmensangaben bietet die softwarebasierte Plattform die Möglichkeit, die Entwicklung von Batteriepacks zu beschleunigen. Im Vergleich zu anderen „Produkten von der Stange“ lasse sich die Energiedichte um 30 Prozent und die Ausnutzung des Packungsvolumens um bis zu 120 Prozent steigern. Die Entwicklung eines neuen Akkupacks soll somit innerhalb weniger Tage geschehen und die Kosten für den Weg von der Anforderung zur Massenproduktion um mehr als 90 Prozent senken können.
Lieferant für Nischenmarkt
„Wir konzentrieren uns derzeit auf Nischen-Automobilunternehmen in Großbritannien und Europa“, sagt IONETIC-CEO James Eaton: „Sie stellen in der Regel weniger als 10.000 Fahrzeuge pro Jahr her, so dass sie wahrscheinlich nicht die Mindestbestellmengen großer globaler Batteriepack-Lieferanten erreichen oder deren hohe Design-Gebühren nicht tragen können.“
