Das britische Unternehmen AMTE Power hat mit dem Automobilentwickler Cosworth eine unverbindliche Absichtserklärung für die Belieferung mit AMTEs „Ultra High Power“-Batteriezellen unterzeichnet. Die Zellen befinden sich noch in der Entwicklungsphase. Derzeit nimmt der Konzern im UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) technische Prüfungen und Untersuchungen zur Hochskalierung der Produktion vor.

Verschiedene Einsatzbereiche

Als Partner von großen Erstausrüstern entwickelt Cosworth Produktlösungen in den Bereichen Batterietechnik und elektrische Antriebsstränge. Dabei bedient das Unternehmen neben dem Automobilsektor auch Kunden im Luft- und Raumfahrtbereich sowie in der Schifffahrt. Als großen Vorteil der AMTE-Technologie nennt der Hersteller hohe Lade- und Entladeraten. Laut Cosworth-CEO Hal Reisiger bietet die Fähigkeit, durch flexible und skalierbare Batteriemodule selbst in kleinen Produktionsvolumen elektrische Antriebssysteme anzubieten, einen entscheidenden Wettbewerbsvorteil.
