Der vietnamesische Automobilhersteller VinFast hat eine Partnerschaft mit dem Festkörperbatterie-Hersteller ProLogium bekanntgegeben. Dabei handele es sich um eine Investition im Umfang von „mehreren zehn Millionen US-Dollar“. Der Vertrag sieht vor, dass ein großer Teil der Produktionskapazitäten aus ProLogiums erstem Batteriewerk VinFast zugesprochen werden. Die Fabrik soll 2023 mit einem geplanten Jahresvolumen von drei Gigawattstunden in Betrieb gehen. VinFast zufolge laufen bereits im Jahr 2024 die ersten Fahrzeuge mit den neuen Batterien vom Band.

Ebenso junge wie ambitionierte Partner

VinFast ist ein neuer Teil der VinGroup, ein vietnamesisches Konglomerat von Unternehmen aus sämtlichen Geschäftszweigenn. Bereits im vergangenen Herbst hatte VinFast bei der „LA Auto Show“ seine ersten beiden Fahrzeuge vorgestellt. Kurz danach präsentierte der Konzern Pläne, denen zufolge rund 50 Verkaufsstandorte in Europa und ein US-Hauptsitz in Los Angeles vorgesehen ist. Unterdessen machte der 2006 gegründete Technologieexperte ProLogium als einer der ersten Hersteller von Festkörper („All solid state“)-Batterien auf sich aufmerksam. Auch Entwicklungspartnerschaften mit großen Automobilherstellern wie Mercedes-Benz konnte sich das taiwanesische Unternehmen bereits sichern.
