Der japanische Automobilkonzern Nissan hat eine Prototypen-Anlage zur Produktion von Feststoffbatterien vorgestellt. Die Akkus sollen im Laminationsverfahren hergestellt werden und im Jahr 2028 auf den Markt kommen. Die Anlage ist Teil des „Nissan Research Center“ in der japanischen Präfektur Kanagawa, wo die Entwicklung von Batterien ohne flüssigen Elektrolyten vorangetrieben werden soll.
Preissenkung und technologische Vorteile
Eigenen Angaben zufolge plant das Unternehmen, im Geschäftsjahr 2024 eine Pilotproduktionslinie in seinem Werk in Yokohama einzurichten. In dem Prototypen-Werk sollen Materialien, Design und Herstellungsverfahren für die Produktion auf dieser Linie untersucht werden. Nissan gehe davon aus, dass sich die Kosten für Festkörperbatterien bis zum Jahr 2028 auf 75 US-Dollar pro Kilowattstunde und danach auf 65 Dollar senken lassen, so dass Elektrofahrzeuge das gleiche Preisniveau wie benzinbetriebene Fahrzeuge erreichen. Die derzeitigen Kosten von Lithium-Ionen-Zellen betragen laut Bloomberg etwa 100 US-Dollar pro Kilowattstunde. Durch die neue Technologie soll die Performance gesteigert und der Preis um bis zu 35 Prozent gesenkt werden.
