Der chinesische Zellhersteller und Volkswagen-Partner „Gotion High Tech“ hat es geschafft, die Produktion von Lithium-Eisenphosphat (LFP)-Akkus mit einer Energiedichte von 210 Wattstunden pro Kilogramm in die Serienproduktion zu skalieren. Laut CEO Li Zhen soll diese Energiedichte bereits Ende des laufenden Jahres mit 230 Wattstunden je Kilo übertroffen werden. Aussagen zu möglichen Energiedichten im zusammengebauten Pack wurden nicht getroffen. Das Branchenportal „InsideEV“ schätzt diese zur damaligen Ankündigung auf 180 Wh/kg.

Auch CATL entwickelt LFP-Zellen weiter

Anfang vergangener Woche hatte bereits das Unternehmen CATL von einer neuen Cell-to-Pack-Variante berichtet und LFP-Zellen mit einer Energiedichte von 160 Wattstunden pro Kilogramm in Aussicht gestellt. Diese sollen Konzernaussagen zufolge bei gleicher Pack-Größe 13 Prozent mehr Energie liefern als die aus 4680er-Zellen bestehende und aktuell von Tesla verwendete Version.
