Der Bergbaukonzern Eramet will mit dem Umweltdienstleister Suez bis 2024 in Frankreich eine Recycling-Anlage für Elektrofahrzeugbatterien entwickeln. Im Rahmen einer erweiterten Partnerschaft prüfen die beiden Unternehmen derzeit die Wiederaufbereitung von Lithium-Ionen-Batterie-Komponenten im industriellen Maßstab.
Bis 2026 soll auch eine Raffinerie stehen
Durch den Recyclingprozess soll sogenannte schwarze Masse produziert werden, die anschließend der hydrometallurgischen Raffination zugeführt werden kann. Für diesen Prozessschritt plant Eramet eine Raffinerie, welche bis 2026 errichtet werden soll. Sowohl die Recycling-Anlage als auch die Raffinerie sollen in Frankreich entstehen. Laut Maximilien Pellegrini, stellvertretender CEO der Suez Group, wollen die Partner die Ziele des französischen Anti-Abfallgesetzes für eine Kreislaufwirtschaft erfüllen.
