Das schwedische Batterie-Unternehmen Northvolt plant den Aufbau einer Zellproduktion in der Region Heide in Schleswig-Holstein. Laut Berichten der Kieler Nachrichten wollen der Ministerpräsident Daniel Günther und Northvolt-Chef Peter Carlsson die Pläne in der kommenden Woche veröffentlichen.
Werk 2025 im besten Fall startklar
Das Bauvorhaben soll auf einer 160 Hektar großen Fläche an der Autobahnabfahrt Heide-West an der A23 umgesetzt werden. Im Idealfall soll der Bau im Jahr 2023 starten und bereits 2025 abgeschlossen sein. Das Vorhaben soll mehrere Hundert Millionen Euro kosten. Inwiefern das Projekt durch Bund, Land und Kommunen gefördert wird, ist derzeit noch offen. Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt soll eine gemeinsame Absichtserklärung vorliegen.

Die offizielle Pressemeldung ist am 15.03. erschienen. Aus ihr geht hervor, dass das Werk „Northvolt Drei“ eine Jahreskapazität von 60 Gigawattstunden aufweisen soll und über eine Recyclinganlage verfügen werde.
