Die Blackstone Resources AG hat für die Erweiterung ihrer sächsischen Batteriezellfabrik eine neue Landfläche gekauft. Laut Angaben des schweizerischen Batterietechnologie-Unternehmens beträgt das Areal 16.500 Quadratmeter am Standort der Tochterfirma Blackstone Technology GmbH in Döbeln. Die Fläche soll der Erweiterung der Produktion von 500 Megawattstunden auf fünf Gigawattstunden Jahreskapazität dienen.

Erweiterung liegt im Zeitplan

Die vorläufige Spitzenkapazität von fünf Gigawattstunden stellt die zweite Ausbaustufe dar. Derzeit befinde sich die Erweiterung in einem Zwischenschritt zur Erhöhung auf 500 Megawattstunden. Dieser Ausbau habe bereits begonnen und werde innerhalb der nächsten zwölf Monate abgeschlossen. Damit werde die Roadmap planmäßig umgesetzt und die nächste Ausbaustufe zügig realisiert, sagt Blackstone-CMO Serhat Yilmaz.

Baugenehmigung soll bald folgen

Die Skalierung auf fünf Gigawattstunden, für die ein neues Gebäude geplant sei, werde spätestens 2024 erreicht. Die Zellfabrik soll über zwei Stockwerke verfügen. Derzeit liege noch keine Baugenehmigung vor, sie werde aber schnellstmöglich eingeholt, heißt es.
