Die Cellforce Group als Joint Venture von Porsche und CUSTOMCELLS plant die Herstellung von Hochleistungsbatteriezellen ab 2024 in Reutlingen. Das Gremium habe sich nach gründlicher Prüfung mehrerer Standorte in Baden-Württemberg für das Industriegebiet zwischen Reutlingen und Tübingen entschlossen. Der entscheidende Faktor sei die geografische Lage, heißt es in einer offiziellen Mitteilung.
CUSTOMCELLS ist ein Unternehmen für die Entwicklung und die Serienfertigung spezieller Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezellen und verfügt bereits über einen Produktionsstandort in Tübingen. Durch eine gute Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt habe man eine Fläche finden können, die den Anforderungen des Projekts gerecht werde und eine räumliche Nähe zum Serienprodukt biete, sagt CEO Leopold König.
Batteriezellen für 1.000 Fahrzeuge pro Jahr
Die Cellforce Group erwirbt im Industriegebiet Reutlingen-Nord/Kirchentellinsfurt eine 28.000 Quadratmeter große Fläche, auf der ab 2022 die Fabrik errichtet werden soll. Die Produktionskapazität soll jährlich 100 Megawattstunden betragen und damit Hochleistungszellen für 1.000 elektrisch angetriebene Porsche-Modelle pro Jahr liefern. Der Produktionsstart sei für 2024 geplant.
Das Vorhaben wird durch den Bund und durch das Land Baden-Württemberg mit insgesamt 60 Millionen Euro gefördert. Der im Rahmen des europäischen IPCEI-Projekts EuBatIn („Important Project of Common European Interest“ – European Battery Innovation) ausgestellte Förderbescheid des Bundesministeriums liege der Cellforce Group bereits vor.
Kurze Ladezeiten und hohe Hitzebeständigkeit
Bei der Zellchemie setze man auf Silizium als Anoden-Material, was höhere Energiedichten und eine kompaktere Größe ermögliche. Als Besonderheit dieser Zelle gilt der Widerstand gegen hohe Temperaturen. Entwicklungspartner ist der Chemiekonzern BASF, der exklusiv hochenergetische HEDTM-NCM-Kathodenmaterialien für die Zellen zur Verfügung stellt.
