Der französische Batteriehersteller Forsee Power will ab Ende 2021 eine Modellpalette besonders dünner Akkus in die Serienfertigung bringen. Sie sollen in elektrischen Bau- und Landwirtschaftsfahrzeugen sowie in Elektro-Leichtfahrzeugen zum Einsatz kommen. Die Batterien der „Slim“-Reihe sollen flexible Leistungsabstufungen ermöglichen und somit speziell auf Kundenanforderungen auslegbar sein.
Flaches Design unabdingbar
Eine der größten Herausforderungen bei der Elektrifizierung sogenannter Off-Highway-Fahrzeuge sei die Bereitstellung passender Batteriesystemlösungen für einen engen Raum, teilt das Unternehmen mit. In der Regel seien die Platzverhältnisse in diesem Sektor derart beschränkt, dass besonders flach designte Batterien notwendig würden. Mit der neuen Baureihe von Forsee soll das Problem nun gelöst worden sein.
Akkus nur 128 Millimeter breit
Die gerade einmal 128 Millimeter breiten Batterien bieten laut Forsee eine hohe Modularität und Skalierbarkeit. So sei die Installation von 16 Modulen in Reihe und sechs Abzweigungen parallel möglich, was eine Vielzahl von Systemkonfigurationen ermögliche – von acht Kilowattstunden und 48 Volt bis zu 760 Kilowattstunden und 800 Volt. Außerdem seien die „Zen-8-Slim“-Batterien äußerst robust, luft- sowie wasserdicht und böten eine Leistungsdichte von 251 Wattstunden je Liter sowie eine Lebensdauer von 5.000 Zyklen. Eine hundertprozentige Aufladung sei innerhalb einer Stunde möglich. Ein erster Kunde für die Systeme sei in Gestalt des Unternehmens Wrightbus bereits gewonnen worden. Weitere Projektpartnerschaften befinden sich laut Forsee derzeit in Prüfung.
