Der chinesische Batterieproduzent Gotion High-Tech will bis zum Jahr 2025 ein Produktionsvolumen von 300 Gigawattstunden erreichen. Dies sei das Dreifache der ursprünglich geplanten Kapazität. In Deutschland beabsichtigt das Unternehmen, das unter anderem bereits mit VW kooperiert, in einem ehemaligen Bosch-Werk Batterien herzustellen.
Erstes Produktionszentrum Europas in Niedersachsen
Ende 2020 belief sich das jährliche Produktionsvolumen von Gotion noch auf 28 Gigawattstunden. In den nächsten Jahren will das chinesische Unternehmen zahlreiche Werke errichten, um das geplante Ziel von mehr als zehnmal so vielen Gigawattstunden zu erreichen. So soll in Niedersachsen demnächst Gotions „erstes Batterieproduktionszentrum in Europa“ errichtet werden.
Keine Angaben zu Kaufpreis, Zeitplan oder Produktionsvolumen
Dazu habe der asiatische Konzern bereits im vergangenen Juli ein Bosch-Werk in Göttingen erworben, das zu einer Produktionsstätte für Lithium-Ionen-Batterien umgerüstet werden soll. Im Rahmen einer vertraglichen Regelung hatte Gotion dazu sämtliche Anteile der Robert Bosch Aftermarket Solutions GmbH übernommen. Bezüglich des Kaufpreises, eines Zeitplans oder eines künftigen Produktionsvolumens macht Gotion bislang keine offiziellen Angaben.
Nach eineinhalb Jahren die ersten zehn Gigawattstunden
In China hat Gotion High-Tech durch eine Tochterfirma den Bau einer Produktionsstätte mit einer Kapazität von 20 Gigawattstunden eingeleitet. Auch Batteriezellen für Volkswagen könnten dort produziert werden. In den nächsten 18 Monaten soll die erste Phase mit zehn Gigawattstunden abgeschlossen werden. Auch für die Batteriefabrik in Salzgitter wollen VW und Gotion High-Tech zusammenarbeiten. Dort sollen ab 2025 Batteriezellen produziert werden. Eine Batteriefertigung von Gotion im chinesischen Hefei könnte indes noch vor der Eröffnung des Werks in Salzgitter an den Start gehen.
