Die Autohersteller Nissan und Renault wollen künftig bei der Entwicklung und Produktion von Batterien zusammenarbeiten. Pläne für eine gemeinsame Plattform zur Kostenreduktion machte Renault-Chef Luca de Meo kürzlich bei einer Veranstaltung der Financial Times publik. Die Kooperation ermögliche, dass beide Marken gemeinsam als erste die Schwelle von einer Million verkauften Elektro-Autos mit den gleichen Batteriemodulen überschreiten.

Indes steht die Zusammenarbeit aufgrund der angeschlagenen Beziehung zwischen den beiden Partnern unter Druck. Sollte die Kooperation misslingen, könnte VW dank seiner Finanzkraft in der Entwicklung beiden Unternehmen im Bereich der Elektromobilität erheblich zusetzen. Ohne die angestrebten Kosteneinsparungen bei der Batterietechnik scheint die Transformation von Nissan und Renault zu wettbewerbsfähigen Playern der E-Mobilität erschwert.

Chip-Mangel birgt „enorme Risiken“
Alleine Nissan verkündete zuletzt bereits im dritten Jahr in Folge einen Nettoverlust. Ein Turnaround sei durch „enorme Risiken“ wegen des globalen Chip-Mangels in der Fahrzeugproduktion und eines Anstiegs der Rohstoffkosten behindert worden. Japans drittgrößter Autohersteller prognostiziert, dass die Produktion des Konzerns zwischen April und September wegen der Halbleiterkrise voraussichtlich um 500.000 Fahrzeuge sinkt.
