Nach aktuellen Informationen des Handelsblatts „aus informierten Branchenkreisen“ plant Tesla bis Juli dieses Jahres den Genehmigungsantrag für die Fertigung von Batteriezellen in Grünheide gestellt zu haben. Darauf aufbauend sei der Plan, dass schon im Jahr 2022 erste Batteriezellen am Teslastandort in Brandenburg produziert werden sollen.
Während der Produktionsstart in Grünheide somit klarer wird, bleibt weiterhin unklar wie die Produktionslinie genau aussehen wird, da diese Informationen nicht aus dem aktuellen Bericht hervorgehen. Wie schon der letzte Battery-Day von Tesla vermuten ließ, wird die Produktionsfläche in Berlin wohl wesentlich kleiner als üblich ausfallen, bedingt durch zahlreiche die Effizienz der Produktion verbessernde Prozessoptimierungen. Eine der markantesten schon bekannten Neurungen wird dabei die Produktion der 4680-Zelle werden.
