In einer aktuellen Pressemitteilung des Unternehmens, zeigt der Batteriespezialist Farasis die solide Entwicklung des Unternehmens auf. Insbesondere durch das globale Batterienetzwerk, in Verbindung mit Zellen auf Benchmark-Niveau, sei das Jahr 2020 sehr gut verlaufen. In Bezug auf die aktuelle Entwicklung neuer Batterie-Generationen, hätten sich nach Aussage des Unternehmens, die positiven internen Tests durch Zelltests der Geschäftspartner bestätigt.

21 GWh jährliche Produktionsleistung wurde schon zum Anfang des letzten Jahres von Farasis, in Bezug auf die Batterieproduktion, erreicht. Ein Wert, der beflügelt durch die zahlreichen Kooperationen und Anfragen seitens Kunden, künftig noch deutlich erhöht werden soll. Unter anderem wohl auch für Mercedes-Benz, das eng mit Farasis zusammen arbeitet. Daimler hatte sich schon im Juli 2020 dazu entschieden sich mit 3% an Farasis zu beteiligen. Darüber hinaus haben die beiden Unternehmen gemeinsam eine Zukunftsstrategie ausgearbeitet.

In Deutschland plant Farasis aktuell den Bau eines Batterie-Kompetenzzentrums am Standort Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Sachsen-Anhalt, wo neben der Batterieproduktion, die hier ab dem Jahr 2022 startet, auch der gesamte Wertschöpfungskreislauf der Batterie analysiert werden soll. 600 Millionen Euro investiert das Unternehmen dafür alleine in der ersten Ausbaustufe in den deutschen Standort. Langfristig sollen bis zu 2.000 Arbeitsplätze vor Ort entstehen.
