Der zur Mitte des letzten Jahres der größter Batteriehersteller der Welt gewordene koreanische Chemie-Konzern LG Chem, der aktuell die Batteriemarke LG Energy Solutions abgespalten hat, war im Q4 2020 zwar profitabel, erfüllt jedoch nicht die Analysten Erwartungen.

LG Chem berichtet mit seinen Zahlen von einem operativen Gewinn von ca. $610 Millionen der leicht unter dem Gewinn zum selben Zeitraum im Vorjahr liegt.

„LG Chem konnte im vergangenen Quartal aufgrund der anhaltend starken Nachfrage nach seinen Elektroauto-Batterien, vor allem von Tesla, einen Gewinn verbuchen, aber das Hauptstandbein des Unternehmens, die Petrochemie, litt im vierten Quartal […] „, sagte Yoon Jae-sung, ein Analyst bei Hana Financial Investment, vor der Veröffentlichung der Ergebnisse.
