Mit einer neuen Entwicklung optimiert Porsche die Effizienz seiner Thermomanagementsysteme. Auf Basis eines Algorithmus soll die Fahrzeugbatterie jederzeit so optimiert temperiert sein, dass Belastungen wie die Aufladung der Batterie an der Ladesäule, die insbesondere beim Schnellladen besondere Anforderungen an die Kühlung stellt, besser gehandhabt werden können.

Kürzere Batterie-Ladezeiten und höhere Reichweiten sind die Kernversprechen der, von Porsche Engineering im vergangenen Jahr als Konzeptstudie entwickelten, neuen Batterietechnologie. Betrachtet man, nach Aussage von Porsche, den Ladevorgang der Batterie, so ist es wichtig, dass die Batterien beim Laden einen optimalen Temperaturzustand aufweisen, weder zu kalt, noch zu heiß sind, da sonst die Ladeleistung absinkt. In der Zukunft soll es so möglich sein, dass ein Batterieladestopp z.B. direkt in die Routenplanung aufgenommen werden kann und das Fahrzeug bei Ankunft an der Ladestation bereits die Batterie thermisch vorbereitet hat. Hiermit soll so zusätzliches Abkühlen oder Aufheizen der Batterie eingespart werden, was den Energieverbrauch schon und so die Reichweit des Fahrzeugs erhöht.
