Wie wird eine Lithium-Ionen-Batterie hergestellt und wie sehen die Produktionsprozesse einzelner Komponenten aus? Detaillierte Einblicke hierüber gibt ein neuer Informationsflyer des PEM Lehrstuhls der RWTH und des VDMA.

Mit einem Informationsflyer stellt der PEM Lehrstuhl der RWTH Aachen in Zusammenarbeit mit dem VDMA Informationen über die Herstellung verschiedener Komponenten der Batterie bereit.

„Mit der Veröffentlichung unserer neuen Broschüre „Komponentenherstellung einer Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezelle“ bilden wir nun die gesamte Herstellungskette bis zum Lithium-Ionen-Batteriepack ab: Von der Komponentenherstellung über die Produktionsprozesse einer Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezelle bis zu dem Montageprozess eines Batteriemoduls und –packs“, erklärt Kim Kreisköther, eine der Autoren des Flyers.

„Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit dem VDMA und bekannten Komponenten- und Anlagenherstellern können wir ausgehend von den Rohmaterialien einen detaillierten Einblick in die Herstellungsprozesse der aktiven und inaktiven Materialien einer Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezelle geben“. Generell besteht die Batteriezelle aus einer positiven und einer negativen Elektrode, einem Separator und einer Elektrolytlösung. Der Flyer informiert zunächst über die Kostenverteilung der einzelnen Bestandteile. Im Elektroauto ist die Batterie mit über 50 % Anteil an den Gesamtkosten die teuerste Komponente. Daher ist eine Kostenreduzierung in der Herstellung der Batterie wesentlich für den Erfolg der Elektromobilität verantwortlich. Die Erzeugung von Aktivmaterialien, Kathodenmaterial, Anodenmaterial, Elektrolyt und inaktiven Materialien wird dargestellt und die Herstellungsprozesse von Elektroden, Separator, Zellgehäuse und Zelldeckel näher erläutert.
