In Berlin startet das Start-up Greenpack mit der Serienproduktion von Akku-Wechselstationen mit dem Namen „Swobbee Sharing Points“. Die Stationen sind in Containerform aufgebaut und funktionieren per Selbstbedienung durch Austausch des leeren Akkus durch einen vollen. Der große Vorteil gegenüber dem Aufladen der Batterie ist die Schnelligkeit des „Tankprozesses“. Das Konzept „Battery-as-a-Service“ ist für Technologien der Mikromobilität wie E-Bikes, E-Roller und E-Scooter angedacht und soll die bisherigen Einschränkungen der Elektromobilität verringern.

Seit Montag startet die Produktion mit zwei Automaten pro Woche, sodass bis zum Ende des Jahres bereits 30 – 50 Automaten entstehen. Kunden in Berlin, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt und Bochum sind bereits vorhanden. Zusammen mit Partnern wie dem Carsharing-Anbieter Stadtmobil Berlin soll ein bundesweites Netz entstehen. Bis zum Jahr 2023 sind 1100 Automaten mit insgesamt 40.000 Akkus in 85 Städten geplant. In der bisherigen Standardversion sind acht Fächer für unterschiedliche Akkus vorhanden. Die Systeme sind modular erweiterbar und für weitere Akkuarten modifizierbar.

Die langjährige Testphase, in der unter anderem Hermes als Partner eingestiegen ist, ist somit abgeschlossen. Zukünftig soll es auch möglich sein, mit dem Greenpack-System Lastspitzen im Netz auszugleichen.
