Am gestrigen Dienstag hat die Varta AG ihren Bericht zum ersten Halbjahr 2019 vorgestellt. In diesem Rahmen wurde die Prognose für 2019 erneut angehoben. Die bereinigte EBITDA Marge verbesserte sich auf 24,6% Prozent um insgesamt 6,2 Prozentpunkte.

Größter Wachstumstreiber war der Bereich der Microbatteries, also wiederaufladbare Lithium-Ionen-Zellen für die Hightech Produkte im Consumer Bereich. Ebenso wurde die Marktführerschaft im Bereich der Hörgeräte ausgebaut. Hier wurde ein Wachstum über Marktniveau erzielt. Das bereinigte EBITDA stieg um 53,2%.

Kundenprojekte im Bereich des Batteriepacks sollen im zweiten Halbjahr den Umsatz weiter stützen. Insbesondere im Bereich der Consumerprodukte werden die Kapazitäten für Lithium-Ionen-Batterie ausgebaut. Ziel sind 100 Millionen Zellen jährlich ab Ende 2020.Hierfür werden 100 Millionen Euro investiert.

Varta kauft darüber hinaus das Batteriegeschäft für Haushaltsgeräte zurück für ebenfalls 100 Millionen Euro zurück. Dies ist noch vorbehaltlich einer Behördenzustimmung.

Herbert Schein, CEO der VARTA AG, bekräftigte im Rahmen der Vorstellung die Vorgabe, „das profitable Wachstum insbesondere bei den Lithium-Ionen-Batterien weiter [zu] beschleunigen“.
