Das Batterieforum Deutschland betreibt seit 2015 eine umfassende Datenbank über die in Deutschland betriebene Forschung rund um sekundäre, chemische Energiespeicher.Die Datenbank ist bis Mitte 2019 finanziert und bis dahin aktuell.

Auf einer interaktiven Deutschlandkarte können die Forscchungsprojekte nach Standorten sortiert dargestellt werden. Momentan sind 945 öffentlich geförderte Projekte an 560 Standorten mit einer Gesamtfördersumme von über 611 Millionen Euro hinterlegt. Über Filterfunktionen sind die Projekte in Bezug auf den Speichertyp (z.B. Lithium-Ionen, Blei-Säure oder Nickel) einzugrenzen. Darüber hinaus lassen sich Fördergeber und Anwendungsfelder als weitere Filterinhalten kombinieren.

Im Aufbau befindet sich eine weitere Projektübersicht über die Aktivitäten, die nicht im offiziellen Katalog der Bundesregierung gelistet sind. Auch hier lohnt sich ein interessierter Blick. Es finden sich hier beispielsweise EU-geförderte Projekte (EFRE und Nicht-EFRE) sowie DFG Projekte. Die Komfortfunktionen sind hier eingeschränkt, aber erlauben in Kombination mit der Hauptdatenbank einen gesamten Überblick in die deutschlandweite Forschung.

Meiner Meinung nach ist die Projektdatenbank ein extrem wertvolles Hilfsmittel im Alltag. Unabhängig von der aktuellen Fragestellung erlaubt die schnelle Suche das Auffinden von ähnlichen Projekten zum Austausch oder ansonsten kompetenten Partner in der Nähe. Die jeweils hinterlegten Projektbeschreibungen erlauben ein einfaches Nachvollziehen der bearbeiteten Fragestellungen. Gleichzeitig lässt sich ein umfassendes Bild über das aktuelle Geschehen und Inspiration für weitere Projekte erlangen.
