Die Batteriehersteller InoBat aus der Slowakei und Gotion High-Tech aus China planen ein gemeinsames Werk zur Zell- und Modulfertigung in Europa. Für die Produktionsstätte mit einer angepeilten Jahreskapazität von 40 Gigawattstunden haben beide Parteien eine unverbindliche Absichtserklärung unterzeichnet. Die Batterien sollen in Elektrofahrzeugen zum Einsatz kommen.
CEE-Nationen stehen im Fokus
Offiziell werde die sogenannte CEE-Region in Betracht gezogenen, heißt es in einer Unternehmensmitteilung von Inobat. Aufgrund der bisherigen Pläne der Partner und wegen des Hauptsitzes von Inobat in der Slowakei gilt ein anderer Standort als die mittel- und osteuropäischen Länder als unwahrscheinlich.
Kooperation auch beim Recycling
Im Rahmen der Zusammenarbeit wolle man sich bei LFP- und NMC-Akkus sowie beim Recycling von Altbatterien und Produktionsabfällen gegenseitig unterstützen. Außerdem prüfe man derzeit das Potenzial einer Produktion von Batterien für stationäre Energiespeicher am slowakischen Standort. Gotion möchte auf diese Weise einen schnelleren Zugang zum europäischen Batteriemarkt erreichen.
