Der chinesische Anlagenhersteller Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd wird zum Hauptlieferanten für den Bau der von Volkswagen geplanten sechs Batteriezellfabriken in Europa. Im ersten Schritt haben Wuxi Lead und VW nun eine Lieferung für das Werk in Salzgitter mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 20 Gigawattstunden vereinbart. Zum Umfang zählt Equipment für die Prozessschritte Kalandrieren, Vakuumtrocknen, Zellassemblierung, Elektrolytbefüllung, Backen der Zellen, Formierung und Alterung sowie die gesamte Linienlogistik.
Abdeckung der gesamten Zellfinalisierung
Wuxi Lead deckt damit einen Teil der Elektroden- und Zellfertigung sowie die gesamte Zellfinalisierung ab. Inwiefern durch den chinesischen Turnkey-Zulieferer noch weitere Prozessschritte bedient werden, ist derzeit noch unklar. Konzernaussagen zufolge stammen 65 Prozent der Anlagen von dem chinesischen Hersteller. Angaben zum finanziellen Umfang machte indes keines der beiden Unternehmen.
Produktion mit Traceability-System
Laut Wuxi Lead bieten die Produktionslinie und das „Manufacturing Execution System“ (MES) verschiedene Funktionen zur Verwaltung und Optimierung des Herstellungsprozesses. Dies umfasse beispielsweise die automatisierte Disposition und den Transport sowie das Hochladen von Daten und intelligente Analysen. Das MES soll somit die Rückverfolgbarkeit und das digitale Management der Produktion jedes einzelnen Bauteils ermöglichen.
