Im Rahmen des EPTs informiert das PEM der RWTH am 05.10.2020 im Basisseminar Batterieproduktion umfassend über den Herstellungsprozess der Batterie.

Eine der wichtigsten Herausforderungen für die zukünftige Elektromobilproduktion ist die Bereitstellung von leistungsstarken Lithium-Ionen-Batterien. Die Hauptanforderungen sind dabei die Steigerung der Reichweite und die Senkung der Herstellungskosten. Aus diesem Grund arbeiten Automobilhersteller, Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer sowie Batteriehersteller und Energieversorger an der Verbesserung auf Produkt- und Prozessseite. Am PEM der RWTH Aachen befindet sich das Elektromobilitätslabor eLab im Aufbau, in dem die vollständige Produktionstechnik für die Fertigung von Hochvoltspeichern zur Verfügung steht.

Das Seminar Batterieproduktion vermittelt den Teilnehmern einen umfassenden Einblick in die Grundlagen der einzelnen Fertigungsprozesse einer Batterie und die besonderen Anforderungen für den Einsatz in Elektrofahrzeugen. Dazu werden sowohl die Produktionsprozesse der Batteriezelle als auch des Batteriemoduls und -packs detailliert vorgestellt und durch praktische Erfahrungen ergänzt. Es werden dabei auch die Ansätze einer stärkeren Industrialisierung von Lithium-Ionen-Batterien in Deutschland diskutiert. Neben den Herausforderungen der Produktionsprozesse wird insbesondere der Bereich der kosteneffizienten Qualitätssicherung in der Batterieproduktion erarbeitet.
