Das Batterie Start-Up SCIO Technology, aus Aschaffenburg, hat im Mai den Businessplan Wettbewerb Nordbayern mit seinen innovativen Batteriesystemen gewonnen. SCIO Technology entwickelt neuartige Batteriesysteme für die E-Mobilität auf Basis des Baukastenprinzips und ergänzt in seinen Batterieentwicklungen immer genau die Zusatzanforderungen, die explizit im zugrunde liegendem Auftrag benötigt werden.
Das Aschaffenburger Unternehmen, dass seit April 2020 auch vom BMWi gefördert wird, gibt an, dass es durch seinen aktuell im Businessplan ausgezeichneten Fertigungsprozess das energiedichteste (volumetrisch und gravimetrisch) Batteriemodul am Markt inkl. dazu zugehöriger Produktionstechnologie entwickelt hat. Entscheidende Vorteile in der Konstruktion sollen, nach Angaben aus dem Förderbescheid des BMWi, hierbei vor allem in der innovativen Anordnung der im Batteriemodul verwendeten Rundzellen und in der Substitution verschiedener Bauteile des Moduls liegen. Änderungen, die in Summe dazu führen, dass die vom bayrischen Start-Up entwickelten Batteriesysteme kleiner, leichter und kostenoptimierter werden. Seine besonderen Entwicklungen, zum Beispiel das Grundbaustein (Micromodul) Verfahren für die Produktion der Module, hat das Unternehmen inzwischen patentieren lassen.
In wieweit sich das erst 2017 gegründete Start-Up in der dynamischen Welt der Batterie auch langfristig behaupten können wird, bleibt abzuwarten. Aktuell präsentiert sich das Unternehmen jedoch als höchst interessanter Akteur auf dem deutschen Markt der Batteriesysteme.
