Der süddeutsche Produzent von Batteriemanagementsystemen Marquardt plant eine neue Fertigung der eigenen Batterieelektronik in Thüringen. Für die Entwicklung von zwei lokalen Standorten steht hierfür nach eigenen Angaben eine Investition von deutlich über 50 Millionen Euro zur Verfügung.

Marquardt reiht sich hiermit in eine Vielzahl von Unternehmen ein, welche sich nach Bekanntwerden der Standortentscheidung von CATL in der Region ansiedeln. Während sich das Werk des Batterieherstellers CATL bei Arnstadt noch im Aufbau befindet, verfügt Marquardt hier bereits über einen Standort. Aktuell ist hier die Fertigung automobiler Innenraumelektronik angesiedelt. Marquardt möchte die momentan 25 an diesem Standort Beschäftigten auf künftig 180 Mitarbeiter aufstocken. Allein 100 neue Stellen sollen im Themenfeld der Batterieelektronik entstehen. Marquardt plant dazu die heute vorhandene Gesamtfläche in Arnstadt um das Dreifache zu vergrößern und erwirbt zusätzlich eine 15 Hektar große Fläche im Gewerbegebiet am Erfurter Kreuz. Mittelfristig sollen die Nutzflächen von Marquardt in Thüringen für Fertigung, Logistik und Verwaltung um 40.000 Quadratmeter erweitert und hauptsächlich für Themen rund um die E-Mobilität genutzt werden.
Nach Aussage der Geschäftsführung der Marquardt Group waren die Kooperationsmöglichkeiten mit CATL für den Standortausbau in Thüringen jedoch nur teilweise ausschlaggebend. Wesentlich wichtiger wären die zentrale Lage in Deutschland und Europa, die gute Infrastruktur und das moderate Kostenniveau in der Region gewesen.
