Der indische multinationale Mischkonzern Tata Group erwägt die Errichtung eines Werks zur Herstellung von Elektrofahrzeug-Batterien in Europa. Das geht aus einem Interview des Finanzchefs der Tata-Automobilsparte mit der Nachrichtenagentur Reuters hervor. Derzeit prüfe das Unternehmen zwei Produktionsstandorte, einen davon in Europa, um den Bedarf an Batteriezellen seiner Luxusauto-Sparte „Jaguar Land Rover“ zu decken.

Indien einer der größten Wachstumsmärkte

Bisher hat „Tata Motors“ rund 50.000 Elektroautos auf dem indischen Markt verkauft. Für 2026 plant das Unternehmen den Vertrieb zehn weiterer Elektrofahrzeugmodelle. Der Konzern gehe davon aus, dass der Anteil der Elektroautomodelle an seinen Gesamtverkäufen von derzeit etwa acht Prozent bis zum Jahr 2025 auf ein Viertel ansteigt.
