Das deutsche Maschinenbau-Unternehmen Manz liefert vier automatische Montagelinien an die Sunlight Group. Das auf industrielle Mobilitäts- und Energiespeicher spezialisierte Technologie-Unternehmen erweitere damit seine Produktionskapazität auf 3,2 Gigawattstunden pro Jahr. Drei der Montagelinien sollen an der Hauptproduktionsstätte im griechischen Xanthi errichtet werden; eine weitere werde in Mebane im US-Bundesstaat North Carolina installiert. Die erste Linie in Xanthi ist seit August 2022 in Betrieb und soll in Kürze die Produktion hochfahren. Die übrigen drei Linien sollen bis zum dritten Quartal 2023 installiert sein.

Flexible Produktion von Energiespeichern

Ein wesentlicher Vorteil der neuen automatischen Linien sei die große Produktionsflexibilität in Verbindung mit einem hohen Automatisierungsgrad. Auf diese Weise wolle Sunlight den unterschiedlichen Marktanforderungen gerecht werden und gleichzeitig die Stillstandszeiten sowie die Kosten reduzieren. Dieses Merkmal sei das Ergebnis einer 15-monatigen gemeinsamen Entwicklungsarbeit der Sunlight Group und der Manz AG.
