Der chinesische Batteriehersteller Sunwoda EVB will in Yichang City einen Standort zur Zellproduktion errichten. Das in der chinesischen Provinz Hubei entstehende Werk soll in zwei Phasen erbaut werden und nach der Fertigstellung ein Jahresvolumen von 30 Gigawattstunden produzieren.

Produkte gehen ausschließlich an die Partner

Im Rahmen eines Joint Ventures von Sunwoda EVB, Dongfeng Motor und Dongfeng Hongtai sollen an dem neuen Standort die Entwicklung und Produktion von Batteriezellen, -modulen und anderen für Batteriespeicher relevanten elektronischen Komponenten erfolgen. Der Bau und der Betrieb des Werks sollen von dem Gemeinschaftsunternehmen verwaltet werden, das zu 51 Prozent von Sunwoda EVB gehalten wird. Die gefertigen Produkte sollen später ausschließlich an Dongfeng Motor und Dongfeng Hongtai ausgeliefert werden, die mit 35 beziehungsweise 14 Prozent an der Partnerschaft beteiligt sind.
