Das norwegische Zellentwicklungs- und -produktionsunternehmen „FREYR Battery“ hat die Einrichtung eines Campus für Technologieressourcen in Japan bekanntgegeben. Die neue Geschäftseinheit ist der erste physische Standort des Unternehmens in Asien und soll FREYRs Tests und Entwicklung der „24M Technologies“-Batterieplattform skalieren. Die neue Einrichtung von FREYR werde sich in Fukuoka befinden, wo derzeit die Testausrüstung installiert wird.

Technologietests und Recruiting-Plattform

FREYRs japanische Technologieressourcen-Einheit werde sich in erster Linie mit elektrochemischen Tests verschiedener Materialien im Zusammenhang mit der Technologieentwicklung von 24M befassen und soll gleichzeitig eine Plattform für die Rekrutierung und Einstellung erfahrener Batterietechniker bieten.

„Unsere neue Geschäftseinheit für Technologieressourcen wird die Entwicklung sauberer Batterien vorantreiben, indem sie unsere Kapazitäten für Tests im Labormaßstab erweitert und den Zugang zu fortschrittlicher Technologie und einem großen Pool erfahrener Ingenieure bietet“, sagt Rune Nordgaard, „Country Manager“ von FREYR in Japan. Das Unternehmen erwarte indes, dass die Gründung der japanischen Geschäftseinheit die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen 24M-Lizenzpartnern in der Region sowie mit Material- und Ausrüstungslieferanten beschleunigt.
